Wow, That Was Quick

First thing, I'm not going to sit here and cry like Roethlisberger did following the last matchup about low hits. However, anyone who says Kimo von Oelhoffen was clearly blocked into Carson Palmer's left leg is full of shit. Was the hit intentional? Likely - I don't know about you, but I rarely wrap my arms around someone's leg to brace my fall. Did he mean to tear his ACL? Not at all. Oelhoffen played as a Bengal from '94-'99 and still maintains respect in the community, in no way did he intentionally mean to end his season and he even offered an apology after the game.

However, the Bengals/Steelers matchup took on a new face yesterday, as now the rivalry has definitely reached a boiling point that compares to the best of former Bengal/Browns rivalries in the past. Following the game that involved numerous displays of excessive trash talk, the Steelers chanted "We-dey" to mock the Bengals famed "Whu-dey", as in to say, "We dey put their ass out of the tournament", which apparently makes sense to the Steeler collective.

QB Jon Kitna again proved why Palmer was drafted. Kitna has always been a quarterback that wouldn't necessarily beat you, however the aspect that every Bengal fan knows is that when he tries to make plays - he fucks up. Always has, and when facing adversity in the second half he proved it again...he fucked up. After LS Brad St. Louis botched his first snap in 3 years (imagine that, during the only playoff game), the depleted Bengal team needed a savior - and unfortunately he was sitting in the MRI machine underneath the stadium.

Kitna scrambled every play unable to adjust to the increased Pittsburgh pressure, he couldn't hold onto snaps and even fumbled the ball running away from defenders. I mean, lacked serious poise in the pocket and even offered up 2 passes that my grandmother would've picked off. At any rate, it was the typical less-than-stellar play we came to expect pre-Carson - you know, back when every non-Bengal fan screamed at the franchise that Kitna was the answer because he filled in admirably for their fantasy team.

Point is, there's been 353 players to come and go in this organization since the last time the Bengals have made the playoffs, and none is more important than Carson Palmer. Let's hope to god recovery goes smooth and he's back in time to lead us into the playoffs again.

  • Your grandmother is hot

  • God should be capitalized in the final comment as well.

Funny. Willie Anderson didn't think it was intentional. Mike Golic didn't. Dan Patrick didn't. Even Carson Palmer, the casualty himself, doesn't think it was intentional. Yet Bengal fans and Steeler haters will continue to bleat.

  • Oh yea, don't cry like BigBen, instead, cry like TJ and CJ..

Bengals receivers Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh refused to believe the better team won the game. "No, no," Johnson said, shaking his head when asked whether the Steelers were the better team. Houshmandzadeh went a step further and said the Steelers will lose to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. He also said the referees were working against the Bengals. "They want Indianapolis and New England in the AFC Championship Game," Houshmandzadeh said. "You can plead your case with stuff, but it wasn't going to change. I figured they'd let us decide the game." Houshmandzadeh was upset that several pass-interference calls weren't made against the Steelers secondary.

    boo fucking hoo

  • I think your QB said it best, despite his lineman saying otherwise:

"I tried to let my body go limp, so I could go down and not hurt my knee," Roethlisberger said. "The more I heard, he said he got pushed or tripped or something. But any time you go low on a quarterback, you know it's a little dirty."

Hartings backed up the claim that Thurman had tripped, a claim that Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis put forth Monday in his press conference.

"I think (Thurman) did trip over me," Hartings said. "Because the first linebacker that came into me, we kind of hit and I kind of spread out. I think he caught a little bit of my foot going down."

Funny how you bring up crying and talk about Bengals WR's. Chad answers a question "no", and T.J. goes off on a heated tangent...least they weren't balling like bitches that they lost.

  • Actually, you brought up crying. First sentence. But the fact you mentioned someone crying and then bitching about Kimo, is in fact crying by you, so I am confussed.

Even funnier is how you mention crying WRs. I think you are talking about the teary-eyed CJ at the end of the game, right? Furthermore, you know as well as I, Hines wasn't crying for the loss. He was crying over a teamate who he thought was going to retire after a 15-1 season, when SB birth was a fore-gone conclusion... crying cause he cares about someone else... not crying because the Patriots embarassed them in the AFCC.

I am waiting to see your next great post after the games next week, maybe some more Steeler bashing when/if Indy wins? I'll guess the headline will read "Paybacks are a Bitch," "Justice is Served" or something witty, that would be cool!

Who hit Palmer last year? The one who originally weakened his knee and sidelined him then as well... lets get that dirty bastard!

So, go sit in your bedroom, between your FatHeads of Carson and Chad and cry me a riverdance... intentional hit.. laughs.. sore loser response. Where's the "game would have a different outcome if Palmer wasn't visciously mauled" response??

  • Game would have been different had Carsy not been hurt!

    There it is Blitzbitch

  • Ya, what a real bitchfest I held there - you know, with saying he wasn't trying to tear his ACL after the intentional hit...oh, and then moving on. What a tearjerking response that was - someone link this blog to Nicholas Sparks, we may be onto a potential screenplay here.

Richard Seymour hit Carson last season. Had this blog been published last December, perhaps it would've been stated. Again, I really gave Kimo the business in my first post didn't I? When I say "maintains respect in the community", what I secretly meant was "blows farm animals & collects child pornography" - I see the confusion and apologize.

Fatheads, interesting idea. My wife and I were going with James the Giraffe for the baby room, perhaps Carson & Chad would be better served.

And the game would've been different had Carson played in it, to think otherwise is asinine - as was proved a month ago. We lack fortitude on defense to matchup, our gameplan is to pressure you to not slip into the running game by putting points on the board. However, I never offer excuses as injuries are a part of the game and are something you must overcome, just in our case it was really a disheartening way to exit the playoffs after our first trip in 15 years.

  • Good one teebager!
    Different how? Like week 7?

  • "Different how? Like week 7?"
    - Blitzburgh

I think he answered that... but to help you, I'll paste his answer..

"And the game would've been different had Carson played in it, to think otherwise is asinine - as was proved a month ago."
    - Bironm

I went ahead and bolded that in case you missed it again.

By Blogger blitzburgh, at 9:26 AM

  • OKOK, I removed that one myself,

Immature defined would be coming to a site to inflame a bunch of fans with senseless BS. Or arguing a mute point about something that was written in truth but a humorous side to it.

Yah your right, my first was uncalled for and deserved to be deleted .. but hey, I still feel that way about you personally just from reading 3 or 4 moronic posts from ya. Remember that link you you gave us?

there is steeler fans there surely, so go there and post your BS flames and you might get support.

BTW. the whole washrag baby was funny, STDBEAR .... come on, I'm sure a man of your innate intelligence can do just a little bit better.
