Buckeyes defeat Miami in the long awaited Elite 8 battle

Coach Bironm, drenched in rare and sought-after Citrus Cooler flavored Gatorade, had only one thing to say after the game. "My kids tonight showed that they have more Heart than the Billboard Top 50 in the late '80s."

Going up against hot Miami team after a sound defeat of the up & down Coach TDAUG's Oklahoma Sooners, the Buckeyes knew they would be in for a game and they came out accordingly. After shutting down the opening Canes drive after a non-existent clipping call forced them to start from their own 9, HB Erik Haw showed no lack of aortic fortitude by following the block of RG Doug Datish right thru the Canes 5-2 defensive set to cruise 68 yards for the quarter's first touchdown. After a quick Miami 3 and out, Ohio State would only need 3 plays to drive 33 yards for their second touchdown, this time the result of a 14 yard QB Troy Smith option keeper. Miami would again stutter on offense after the ensuing kick, and after a short punt the Buckeyes again marched into the end zone on a 2 yard FB Dionte Johnson touchdown run.

Up early, the Buckeyes began playing a bit more liberal on defense, but Coach Canes142 found a way to burn it on a play-action 63 yard pass from QB Kirby Freeman to WR Sionorice Moss, or however the world you spell that. With just 1:29 remaining in the half, Smith didn't hesitate in retaliating with a 77 yard strike to WR Roy Hall to conclude the game's scoring before halftime at 28-7.

Good game Canes, I'm sure I'll see you around the next time the Mad Doc laces up the Commissioner shoes.
